Basic Requirements
To start, have the following parts, accessories, and information ready:
- The Kindle and in-box accessories
- An Amazon account, including your email address or phone number and password.

- An internet connection, including your Wi-Fi name and password.
How to Set Up Your Device

To set up your device:
- Press the power button located on the top right side of your Kindle.
- Select your preferred language.
- Select either Set up on this Kindle, OR Set up with your phone.
- Connect to Wi-Fi.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to register your Kindle to your Amazon account.
- Activate your Amazon Kids+ Subscription.

Set up with your phone: Use Simple Setup with the Kindle app on your iOS or Android device to register your Kindle. To do this, you need the following:
- Your Kindle 2026
- The Kindle app on your iOS or Android device.
Note: Make sure to update your Kindle app with the latest available version.
- Turn on Amazon Device Simple Setup in the Kindle app:
- Tap on more.
- Tap on Settings.
- Turn on Amazon Device Simple Setup toggle button.
- Turn on Bluetooth and Location Services (Android only) on your phone.
Your Kindle app automatically detects your Amazon account and any previously saved Wi-Fi passwords to help with setup.

| 2. Power button | To turn your Kindle on, press the Power button located on the top right side of the device. To turn off your Kindle screen, press and hold the Power button for 9 seconds until the Power dialog box displays, then select Screen Off. |
