Try these troubleshooting steps if you can't connect your Alexa Tablet or Amazon Kids Tablet to a Wi-Fi network.

Try these troubleshooting steps if your device can't connect to a Wi-Fi network.

  1. Make sure that Airplane mode is off:
    • Go to Settings.
    • Select Network & Internet.
    • Toggle the Airplane mode to off.
  2. Make sure that you're using the right Wi-Fi network name and password. Refer to our page Locate Your Wi-Fi Password. for more information.
  3. Confirm other devices connect to the same network. Refer to our page Troubleshooting Network Outage for more information.
  4. Try restarting your device.
  5. Make sure that your device is within the range of the wireless router.
  6. Check that your device is away from any devices that cause interference (such as microwaves, baby monitors, or other high bandwidth consuming wireless devices).

If the network name doesn't show in the scan list, add the network manually:

  1. Select Add Network and enter the network name and password.
  2. Select Advanced, then select the hidden network dropdown.
  3. Select Yes to connect to the hidden network.
  4. Confirm that your device has the latest software version available. Visit Alexa or Amazon Kids Tablet Software Updates to compare version numbers.

To improve your device's ability to connect, try disconnecting other devices connected with your Wi-Fi network.

  1. Attempt to connect your device to Wi-Fi again or add a network manually by choosing the Other option in the Wi-Fi scan list.
  2. Public hotspots may require a separate sign-in, usually through a pop-up. If the pop-up doesn't appear automatically, open any simple website on the Silk browser and check if the welcome page is displayed.
  3. Try connecting your device with your smartphone as a personal Wi-Fi hotspot.

Try resetting your network setting:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select System, then select Reset Options.
  3. Select Reset Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
  4. Try rebooting your modem and router. Refer to our page Restart Home Network Devices. for more information.
  5. Make sure to configure your primary networks (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz), your extender, or your mesh nodes with the exact same network name, security type, and password for seamless roaming to work.
Note: If you're experiencing connection issues on multiple devices, contact your Internet Service Provider.
