How to Edit Map View

You can edit your existing floor plan in Map View with the Alexa app.

To edit your Map View:

  1. Open the Alexa app .
  2. Select Devices .
  3. Select Map View .
  4. Select Preferences .
  5. Select Edit Floor Plan.

Some Map View editing options include:

  • Add Room.
  • Rename.
  • Split, which allows you to separate one large area into two separate rooms with a virtual wall.
    • Splitting a room is permanent. The only way to remove a split is to rescan the room again.
  • Rescan, which replaces an existing room with a new scan.
  • Move. When moving a room, green lines appear that show where a door can connect to the next room. If the lines are red, then you can't connect the room in that location.
  • Resize. To resize, drag the room away from the floor plan. Then resize it and reattach it to your floor plan. You can't resize walls that are still connected to other rooms.
  • Remove, which lets you remove a room from your floor plan.
  • Doors. Add, remove, or modify doors
