- If your room doesn’t look right, try rescanning it.
- Don't scan your entire home or multiple rooms at the same time. Complete one room before moving to the next.
- For large rooms without walls, like a combined kitchen and dining room, scan them as one room.
- To designate each space as its own room, split them horizontally or vertically with the editing tools.
- Splitting a room is irreversible. The only way to remove a split is to rescan your room again.
- For the best result, try to spend less than 5 minutes scanning a single room.
- Make sure that you scan every wall in your room before you select Finish Room.
- If you can’t begin your scan, make sure that you mimic the on-screen animation in your Alexa app.
- Keep your phone steady as you scan from floor to ceiling.
- Try to avoid starting the scan looking at a blank wall.
- If your scan is still freezing, restart the Alexa app by force closing it. If that doesn’t work, try restarting your phone.
- Furniture and staircases don't impact Map View functionality.
- If your stairs or furniture are missing, try rescanning the room (but don't stand on the staircase while scanning).
- When you're at the bottom of the staircase, carefully scan slowly while moving your camera upwards. If you're at the top, carefully scan slowly while moving your camera downwards.
- You don't have to scan small spaces, like closets or cupboards. If you do want to scan them, stay as far away from the wall you're scanning as possible.
- Map View doesn’t support scanning bay windows or round walls.
