Adding or Moving Devices in Map View
If you’d like to add new devices or change your devices’ location in Map View, try these tips.
- To add or move devices, go to your floor plan settings. Go to How to Edit Map View for more information on this step.
- To add groups, you can add the entire group to your floor plan.
- To add your group, drag the square with the rounded corners from the bottom of your screen and place it on your floor plan.
- To add individual devices from a group, tap the group icon and pin them to your floor plan.
- To identify which device you're trying to control, select your device and then select Test.
- For lights, this test helps by turning the device on and off.
- If you can't remember the name of one of the devices that you already placed on the floor plan, select the device's pin icon. The device pin icon shows the device's name.
- To make sure that you selected your device, press and hold it until it enlarges.
- When you let go, it lands where the small blue dot is underneath it.
- Some devices don’t work with Map View. These devices include:
- Trackers, Ring car camera, printers, and others.
- If you scanned multiple floors, you can place devices on another floor. Select the desired floor in the top-right corner of the map.
