What Is Away Lighting with Alexa?
Use Away Lighting when you leave to make it appear as though you're home.
When Away Lighting is on, Alexa turns connected smart lights on and off periodically to make it look like someone is home.
To turn on Away Lighting with your connected your smart bulbs, plugs, and switches:
- Open the Alexa app
. - Select Devices
. - Select any light.
- Select Settings
. - Select Away Lighting.
- Followed the guided setup instructions for Away Lighting.
To turn Away Lighting on or off, go to the Alexa app home screen and navigate to the Favorites section. Select the Away Lighting tile to turn the feature on or off.
Note: Sync Away Lighting with home and away modes to turn Away Lighting on or off automatically. For example, add Away Lighting to away mode so the feature turns on when you switch to away mode, and off when you switch to home mode.
