Set Up External Temperature Sensors with Amazon Smart Thermostat

Connect temperature sensing devices, such as certain Echo devices and the Amazon Smart Air Quality Monitor, to your Amazon Smart Thermostat.

Your Amazon Smart Thermostat can use up to 10 external temperature sensors, which include these Amazon devices:

  • Echo (4th Generation)
  • Echo Dot (5th Generation)
  • Echo Dot with Clock (5th Generation)
  • Amazon Smart Air Quality Monitor

To connect your compatible devices to your Amazon Smart Thermostat:

  1. Open the Alexa app .
  2. Select Devices .
  3. Select your Amazon Smart Thermostat from the list of devices.
  4. Next to Selected temperature sensors, select View/Edit.
  5. In the list of eligible sensors, select the temperature sensing device you wish to connect to the Amazon Smart Thermostat. You can select up to 10 sensors.
Note:
  • To program sensors with your thermostat schedules, select Change sensors for schedules/automatic control.
  • If you select more than one Echo device, Alexa adjusts your home temperature using the average temperature detected by all the sensors.
