Ask Alexa to Delete Your Voice History

To ask Alexa to delete your voice recordings, enable deletion by voice in the Alexa app.

  1. Open the Alexa app .
  2. Open More .
  3. Select Alexa Privacy.
  4. Select Manage Your Alexa Data.
  5. Select Voice and Typed Requests, and then select the frequency of when you want your recordings deleted.

Then you can use your voice to delete your voice recordings for the time period you want. Say,

  • "Delete what I just said."
  • "Delete everything I said today."
  • "Delete my entire voice history."

Note:
  • Voice requests can't be used to delete your voice history with Alexa+. You can control privacy settings and manage your voice history by visiting Alexa Privacy Settings or the Privacy section of the Alexa app.
  • Voice recordings are used to improve the accuracy of your interactions with Alexa. Deleting voice recordings associated with your account could degrade your experience.
  • Voice deletion is not supported on Amazon Kids-enabled Alexa devices. To manage voice recordings from an Amazon Kids-enabled Alexa device, ask another Alexa-enabled device on the account or use the Alexa app.
  • Voice recordings can be set to delete automatically.
