Enroll in Visual ID on Your Echo Devices with a Camera

Create a visual ID for a personalized Alexa experience on your compatible Echo device with a camera.

Note: Settings menu items for the Echo Hub and Echo Show 5 (all generations) may vary, and those devices will receive a software update soon.

To enroll in Visual ID in the Alexa app:

  1. Open the Alexa app .
  2. Open More .
  3. Select Settings .
  4. Select [your name].
  5. Select Your Profile.
  6. Select Visual ID.
  7. Delete your Visual ID.

To enroll in visual ID after setting up your device:

  1. Say, "Go to settings," or swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings.
  2. Select Accounts & Profiles.
  3. Select Your Profile & Family.
  4. Select [your name].
  5. Select Visual ID.
  6. Select Agree & Continue and follow the steps on your device.
    Note: Visual ID isn't supported if the camera is disabled, the camera shutter is closed, or the Microphones & Camera Enable/Disable button is pressed.

    To turn off Visual ID temporarily, press the Microphones & Camera Enable/Disable button to turn off the camera and microphones.
