How Does VIP Filter Work?
VIP Filter allows you to customize how you receive phone notifications.
You can limit phone notifications to specific contacts or apps. To hear your notifications, say "What are my notifications?"
On Echo Frames (2nd Generation): When you receive a phone notification, swipe any direction on the touch pad to allow notifications from the contact or app. To reject the notification or stop notifications from the contact or app, tap the touchpad.
On Smart Glasses with Alexa (3rd Generation): When you receive a phone notification, press the front action button (on the right temple) to allow notifications from the contact or app. To reject the notification or stop notifications from the contact or app, press the left action button (on the right temple).
On Echo Buds: When you receive a phone notification, single tap to allow notifications from the contact or app. To reject the notification or stop notifications from the contact or app, double tap your Echo Buds.
- VIP Filter respects your phone's focus mode settings when turned on. If both VIP Filter and your phone's focus mode are active, VIP Filter still reads out iOS device messages from allowlisted apps and contacts. VIP Filter reads out no Android device messages.
- Regardless of your phone's focus mode, you can always request Alexa to read notifications by saying "Alexa, what are my notifications?" However, Alexa may only read contacts allowlisted in your focus mode settings.
