What Is Audio Guest Casting with Alexa?

Guests can play audio on your supported Echo devices when they connect to your Wi-Fi network.

Guest Casting lets anyone on your Wi-Fi network play audio from a supported music service to your Echo devices. When it is on, anyone connected to your Wi-Fi network will be able to see your device names and discover these devices. To disable Guest Casting, go to Turn Guest Casting On or Off.

When Guest Casting is on, your device name is visible to others on your Wi-Fi network. To learn how to change your device name, go to Change Your Echo Device's Name.

How Guest Casting Works

Guest Casting lets anyone with access to your Wi-Fi network play audio from their supported music service app to your Alexa devices. You do not need to link a music service account in your Alexa app to use Guest Casting.

Casting music does not include full Alexa voice features. For example, if you pause the music that you cast, you won't be able to tell Alexa to restart it by voice.

Link a Supported Music Service
