Amazon Astro Is Having Wi-Fi Issues
Astro can't connect to Wi-Fi or has intermittent connection issues.
Tip: Set out of bounds zones to stop Astro from navigating into weak Wi-Fi areas. Your Wi-Fi signal must cover every area that Astro uses. In areas with weak or patchy Wi-Fi, Astro can't respond to commands or play back media. For step-by-step instructions, go to:
Setting Amazon Astro Out of Bounds Zones.
- First, troubleshoot your Amazon Astro device.
- As a first troubleshooting step: Restart Amazon Astro.
- If restarting doesn't solve the issue, check that Astro's software is up-to-date.
For instructions, go to: Update the Software on Your Amazon Astro.
- Next, troubleshoot your Wi-Fi device(s). Check your Wi-Fi connection with another device to determine if the issue is your Astro device, or with your Wi-Fi network.
- If other devices can connect, check that you're using the correct Wi-Fi password for Amazon Astro to connect to your network.
For instructions, go to: Update the Wi-Fi Settings on Your Amazon Astro.
- If other devices can't connect, restart your internet router and/or modem. While your router and/or modem restarts, Restart Amazon Astro.
If other devices still can't connect to your internet router and/or modem after you restart, reach out to the manufacturer of the router/modem for support.
- If other devices can connect, check that you're using the correct Wi-Fi password for Amazon Astro to connect to your network.
- Finally, troubleshoot your Wi-Fi connection.
- If your router has separate network names for the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands (such as "MyHome-2.4" and "MyHome-5" wireless networks,) disconnect from the network you're using and connect to the other one.
- Turn off other devices temporarily to reduce interference and see if that affects your Amazon Astro's ability to connect.
If your Wi-Fi network has a weak signal and previous troubleshooting did not fix the issue, contact your internet service provider for additional support.
