Add or Remove Emergency Contacts in Alexa Emergency Assist

Keep your contacts informed when you place a call to Urgent Response.

You can have up to 25 emergency contacts.

Your Emergency Contacts will be notified via SMS and push notification when a call has been placed to Urgent Response. The notification will inform them when a call was placed, and the device it was placed from. Your Emergency Contacts receive another notification when the Urgent Response call ends.

One of your Emergency Contacts can be designated as a Primary Emergency Contact. If you disconnect from a call with Urgent Response and can't be reached, the agent may call your Primary Emergency Contact. Your Primary Emergency Contact may be asked to dispatch emergency services on your behalf.

To add emergency contacts:

  1. Open the Alexa app .
  2. Open More .
  3. Select Alexa Emergency Assist.
  4. Select Add/Remove to add contacts you want to notify in case of an emergency.
  5. Select a contact from your Alexa Contacts. Emergency contacts will be notified that they've been added via SMS and push notification.
If your emergency contact misses your call, they can use the Alexa app to call your Echo device.
Important: You need to add at least one Emergency Contact to your Alexa Emergency Assist profile for your Emergency Assist subscription to be active.
