Hiding and Removing Photos on Alexa Photo Frame

To stop a photo showing on your Alexa Photo Frame, hide it or remove it.

Hide a photo

You can stop a photo showing on your Alexa Photo Frame by tapping the photo then selecting Hide.

You can also hide photos with the Amazon Photos app.

  1. In the Amazon Photos app, select the Devices icon (devices) in the top right, then select your Alexa Photo Frame.
  2. Select See all photos, then open the collection the photo is in.
  3. Select Select, then choose the photo.
  4. Select Hide.

Your hidden photos are in the Hidden photos album under the Collections section of the Amazon Photos app.

You can also hide photos on the Alexa Photo Frame screen by tapping the photo and selecting Hide or saying "Alexa, hide this photo".

Remove a photo from a collection or album

If you remove a photo from your Alexa Photo Frame, it won't be displayed on the Frame, but the photo will remain in your Amazon Photos library.

  1. In the Amazon Photos app, select the Devices icon (devices) in the top right, then select your Alexa Photo Frame.
  2. Select See all photos.
    • To remove a single photo: open the collection it's in, then long press the photo or select Select and choose the photo.
    • To remove a whole collection: select the collection.
  3. Select Remove, then confirm.

Removing a whole collection stops all its photos showing on your Alexa Photo Frame.

Delete a photo from Amazon Photos

Important: Deleting a photo removes it from your Amazon Photos library and stops it showing on your Alexa Photo Frame. Deleted photos move to Trash and are permanently deleted after 90 days. To restore a photo before then, check Recover Deleted Photos and Videos.

To take a photo off your Alexa Photo Frame without deleting it from Amazon Photos, remove it instead.
