Prepare for an In-Garage Delivery

Use these tips when preparing for an In-Garage Delivery.

• Notify household members about an upcoming delivery, so they know that the garage door will be opening.
• Remove pets from the garage and make sure they can't access the garage while the door is open.
• Take the following optional steps to tailor your In-Garage Delivery experience to fit your needs:
  • Designate where you'd like your packages placed inside your garage by going to Amazon Key settings and uploading a photo. Refer to Designate an Amazon Key Delivery Spot in Your Garage.
  • If you'd like to track your package, ensure that you have Amazon notifications turned on for both your mobile device and the Amazon shopping app. This allows you to be notified when your package ships, is out for delivery, and is a few stops away.   • Set up a compatible camera to watch deliveries in real time. Go to Connect an Amazon Key Compatible Camera Using the Amazon Shopping App.
• Update your default delivery preference for future orders. Go to Change Your Amazon Key Default Delivery Preference.
• You don't need to share keys or codes with delivery drivers. Drivers simply scan your package for one-time access to open the garage, place the package inside, and close the garage door. However, if the door is already open when they arrive, drivers are instructed to leave it open.
