Set Up Your Amazon Astro

Follow the on-device instructions to complete setup.

Before you set up your Amazon Astro, review the following resources:

To set up Astro:

  1. Follow the instructions for unboxing Astro provided on the white label near the clips on the box.
  2. Place the charging dock on a flat surface near a wall outlet that's about 3 ft wide and 6 ft long for Astro's charger.
  3. Place Astro in front of the charging dock with the screen facing away from it. Gently roll it backward onto the charger.
  4. Astro powers on.
    1. If Astro doesn't power on, press and hold the microphones/cameras off button for 2-3 second until Astro starts to power on.
  5. Follow the on-device instructions to set up Astro.

Note: The Alexa app only supports Astro's Home and Away security modes for one Ring location. To monitor with multiple Astros and Ring locations, add your Amazon Astro device to each location in the Ring app. Then, turn "off" your Astro device modes in the Alexa app.
