Alexa Home Theater Device Compatibility Guide

Check which Echo speakers and Fire TV devices are compatible to create the Alexa Home Theater experience.

Note: The following Fire TV devices don't currently support Alexa Home Theater:
  • Fire TV Stick HD (2nd Generation)
  • Fire TV Stick 4K Select
  • Amazon Ember 2-Series and Fire TV 2-Series
  • Amazon Ember 4-Series and Fire TV 4-Series (2025 Release, newest model)
  • Amazon Ember QLED Series and Fire TV Omni QLED Series (2025 Release, newest model)
  • Amazon Ember Mini-LED Series and Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series (2024 Release, newest model)
  • Amazon Ember Artline

To set up your Alexa Home Theater, go to Set Up Alexa Home Theater on Your Fire TV.

Enhance your home theater system's bass by adding one Echo Sub to the configuration.

Note: The Echo Sub must be paired in the Alexa Home Theater settings on your Fire TV with matching Echo speakers and cannot be used alone.

Audio from Fire TV, HDMI-In, and TV Source

The following Fire TV and Echo device configurations support multi audio sources when the Fire TV device is connected via HDMI-ARC. You can play audio from sources such as other HDMI inputs, cable box, or gaming systems through your Alexa Home Theater:

Configuration 1: Up to Five Echo Speakers + Subwoofer

Configuration 2: Up to Two Echo Speaker + Optional Subwoofer

Audio from Fire TV Only

The following Fire TV and Echo device configuration supports Fire TV audio playback only.

You can't play audio from sources such as HDMI inputs, cable box, or gaming systems through Alexa Home Theater.
