Using Your Amazon Smart Soap Dispenser

Learn how to get the most out of your Amazon Smart Soap Dispenser.

Variable Dispensing

With variable dispensing, the amount of soap that dispenses depends on how far your hand is from the nozzle. There are three soap dispensing levels. The closer your hand is to the nozzle, the less soap dispenses. When your hand is lower and farther away from the nozzle, more soap dispenses.

Turn On High Dispensing Mode

If you want more soap within each level of variable dispensing, turn on high dispensing mode. Before you can turn on high dispensing mode, you must complete setup of your device in the Alexa app. Visit Set Up Amazon Smart Soap Dispenser for more information. To turn on high dispensing mode, double press the power button.

Note: When you turn on high dispensing mode, two LEDs will temporarily light up on your device. To return to default variable dispensing, double press the power button again. One LED will temporarily light up on your device when you switch back to default variable dispensing.

20-Second Timer

Your Amazon Smart Soap Dispenser has a 20-second timer that lights up as you wash your hands for the CDC recommended minimum amount of time.

Create a Routine

Connect your Amazon Smart Soap Dispenser with a nearby compatible Echo device and create an Alexa Routine. With a Routine, your Echo plays songs, jokes, or a snippet of the news while you wash your hands.

For instructions to create a Routine, visit Manage your Amazon Smart Soap Dispenser Routine.

Note: Any audio associated with your routine plays from your connected Echo device. Your Amazon Smart Soap Dispenser doesn’t play any sound.

Moving and Filling

To prevent accidental dispenses, power off the device before you refill it with soap, pick it up, or move it. When refilling your device with soap, prime the pump by moving your hand under the dispensing nozzle, then removing it. Repeat multiple times until soap dispenses.
