What is Real Time Text (RTT)?
RTT allows you to type text that displays on the screen character by character during an Alexa call or drop in.
When you turn on the RTT, a keyboard becomes available, and a chat feed display's the text that's being typed in real time.
Typed text appears on your devices screen while any spoken words are heard normally through audio.
RTT is available for Alexa calls and Drop Ins on Echo devices with a screen and the Alexa app.
- Say, "Go to Settings," or go to the device settings on your Echo Show:
- If you're using Alexa+, select the Menu
icon on your screen, and then select Settings
. - If you're using the original Alexa, swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings
.
- If you're using Alexa+, select the Menu
- Select Accessibility.
- Turn RTT on or off.
