Use Call Captioning and Call Translation on Your Alexa Calls
With Call Captioning, Alexa calls and Drop Ins caption in real time on the Alexa app and Echo Show devices.
With Call Translation, your captions translate into your selected language.
To turn on Call Captioning, say "Alexa, turn on Call Captioning." You can also turn on Call Captioning from the Alexa app.

- Select Accessibility.
- Select Captioning.
- Select Call Captioning.
Note: To change your font style and size, select Captioning Preferences.
You can also change your preferred captioning language during a call.

- Alexa needs to process your calls in the cloud to turn on captions. For more information, see Alexa and Alexa Device FAQs.
- Call Captioning and Call Translation are available to Echo devices with a screen and Alexa mobile app customers in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, UK, Germany, France, Spain, and Italy in over 10 languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Dutch, and Portuguese. Call Captioning is available in Brazil.
- These features don’t work when making calls between a supported region and an unsupported region.
