How Much Storage do I Have Available?
Check how much Amazon Photos storage you have, what counts against it, and what happens if you go over your limit or cancel Prime.
Check your storage
- Web: sign in to Amazon Photos and select Storage, or go to Your Storage.
- Mobile (iOS or Android): open Amazon Photos and select Profile, then Storage.
You'll see how much you've used and how much is available, broken down by photos and videos.
What counts against your storage
- Photos: free and unlimited at full resolution for Amazon Prime members. Non-Prime customers get 5 GB shared across photos and videos.
- Videos: count toward your storage limit for everyone, including Prime members.
If you go over your storage limit (over-quota)
- You can still view, download, and share the photos and videos already in your account.
- You can't upload new photos or videos until you free up space or add more storage.
- Auto-Save and backup pause until you're back under your limit.
If you cancel Prime or your storage plan
You keep 5 GB of free storage. If the content you've stored is larger than your new limit, your account becomes over-quota and items must be removed to bring it back within the limit.
To keep unlimited photo storage, renew Prime. To keep extra space for videos and files, choose a paid storage plan.
Free up space or add storage
- Remove items you no longer want (check Delete Photos and Videos Using a Web Browser), then empty the Trash to reclaim space (check Delete Photos and Videos Permanently).
- Add more storage (check Get More Storage for Videos and Photos).
