Upgrade Your Amazon Visa and Earn 5% Back

If you have an eligible Prime membership, you can upgrade your card to earn 5% back on purchases made at Amazon.com, Amazon Fresh, and Whole Foods Market.

An upgrade may not be necessary. If you have an eligible Prime membership, your card will earn 5% back at Amazon.com, Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market, and on Chase Travel purchases.

You can check if your card is currently earning 5% back on purchases made at Amazon.com, Amazon Fresh, and Whole Foods Market by going to Your Account and selecting Your Payments. Expand the details of your card to see the percent back you currently earn on purchases made at Amazon.com, Amazon Fresh, and Whole Foods Market.

If you're an Amazon Visa cardmember and an invited guest who receives only shipping benefits from another Prime member, your card will still earn 3% back. You can earn 5% back by joining Prime or by sharing benefits with an eligible Prime member through an Amazon Household.

To upgrade your card to earn 5% back:

  1. Go to Your Account and select Your Payments.
  2. Expand the details of your card. If it says that your card could be earning 5% back, select Learn how.
    If you have multiple Amazon Visa or Prime Visa cards in your wallet, select which card you'd like to earn 5% back with on purchases made at Amazon.com, Amazon Fresh, and Whole Foods Market. You can only link one card at a time to your eligible Prime membership.
  3. Enter the complete card number and select Start earning 5% Back.
