Mississippi Educational Enhancement Funds Card
Qualifying educators in the state of Mississippi who have obtained an EEF (Educational Enhancement Fund) card from their school district, can make qualifying exempt purchases by enrolling into the Amazon Tax Exemption Program (ATEP).
In order to enroll into the program, Amazon is required to obtain documentation from the school district which states they are exempt from the Mississippi Department Revenue. Documentation must be uploaded by going to Your Account > Ordering and Shopping Preferences > Tax Exemption Program or by going to the Tax Exemption Wizard.
Documentation must be able to be correlated to the account making the purchase through address, name or email domain. Failure to meet one of these three requirements will result in the documentation being denied.
Once added to the account, the exemption will be on the account through September 30, or earlier if expired per customer request. Purchases made after September 30 with an EEF card, will need to contact customer service for a tax refund by providing the district letter and order ID via email to tax-exempt@amazon.com.
Enrollment into the program applies to the account irrespective of payment method, therefore, when personal purchases are being made, or payment method is not the EEF card, exemption will need to be removed per item at checkout by clicking the “remove” option next to Tax Exemption Applied.
Further questions regarding the program can be directed to the Mississippi Department of Revenue or local school district.
