Regain Access to an Account on Hold

Your account will be put on hold when an unusual payment activity is observed in your account.

Amazon monitors activity on your account to keep your account and payment methods safe. When we notice unusual payment activity on your account, we temporarily place your account on hold. We do it as a security action, so we can review it with you.

To regain access to your Amazon account:

  1. Check your email or text messages for an “Account on hold” notification from Amazon.
  2. Sign in to your Amazon account.
  3. Complete the form and include necessary attachments.
Note:
  • You will receive email or text messages from us with instructions on pending orders when your account is on hold.
  • Your access to all Amazon services will also be placed on hold while your account is on hold. This restriction includes digital services such as Amazon Prime, Amazon Music, and Kindle, and devices like Alexa and Ring.
  • The fastest way to unlock your account is to submit the requested details yourself through our secure sign-in portal. Our Customer Service team can guide you in this process, but will ask you to follow the same instructions.
