What is Dolby Vision on Prime Video?
Dolby Vision is a proprietary video technology developed by Dolby Laboratories that significantly enhances picture quality.
Dolby Vision is available on compatible devices, including:
- Select smart TVs from LG, Samsung, Sony, and other manufacturers
- Apple TV 4K
- Fire TV devices (select models)
- iPhone and iPad (iPhone 8 and later, iPad Pro models)
- Select Android phones and tablets
- Select streaming devices and gaming consoles
In addition to content being viewed on a supported device and display, you must also have a consistent internet connection of at least 25Mbps. If your internet connection doesn’t meet this requirement, your stream will automatically switch to a lower resolution (therefore removing Dolby Vision) at least temporarily to prevent buffering.
If you don’t have a Prime Video Ultra subscription, please note that playback of titles – other than those purchased, rented, or otherwise included with an add-on subscription – will be limited to 1080p/HD.
