What Is Personal Presence Detection with Alexa+?

Some Echo devices can detect presence in a room through your Visual ID profile.

Person Presence Detection is available on:

  • Echo Show 8 (2nd Generation and newer)
  • Echo Show 10
  • Echo Show 11 (2025 release)
  • Echo Show 15
  • Echo Show 21

Personal Presence Detection uses your Visual ID profile to start a personalized routine. When Alexa recognizes you or a member of your household with a Visual ID, the device starts a routine such as turning on the lights when you enter a room.
