Paying for Prime Video Add-On Subscriptions with Gift Cards

Customers in United States and U.S. territories can now pay for Prime Video add-on subscriptions using their Amazon.com Gift Card balance.

You can purchase Amazon.com Gift Cards at participating grocery, drug, and convenience stores throughout the United States. Alternatively, you can purchase digital gift cards through the Amazon.com website.

The option to use gift card is shown during the sign-up process for Prime membership or Prime Video add-on subscriptions. If the balance of your card is higher than the cost of the plan, the balance will remain in your account, and will be used to pay the following periods. Remember that the balance can also be used to make purchases on Amazon.com, so you must ensure that you have enough balance to cover subsequent months.

To access a free trial (if eligible), you’ll need to add a credit or debit card as a backup payment method. If you're only paying with Amazon.com Gift Cards, the free trial isn’t available.

You can edit payment methods for existing Prime Video add-on subscriptions by going to Update Your Payment Method
