About Stories with Alexa

Kids can create new, narrated stories with Alexa, as well as discover and enjoy their favorite stories.

To use Stories with Alexa, you must have all of the following:

  • A supported Alexa-enabled Echo, Fire Tablet, or Fire TV device. You can find a list of supported devices at amazon.com/alexa+.
  • Access to Alexa+.
  • An active Amazon Kids+ subscription.
  • An active child profile with voice ID on your device, or a device set to Kids Mode in settings.

Stories with Alexa lets children explore storytelling.Telling Alexa "I want a story" typically offers a choice between creating their own personalized story or listening to one from the Amazon Kids+ Audible catalog.

When creating a story, kids can share ideas about plots, characters, and themes while Alexa crafts a personalized tale.

Kids can create new adventures through choices and character creation with a conversation with Alexa. Tell Alexa "I want to go on an adventure" on a compatible Echo device with a screen to start a personalized story where they can decide what to do next and shape the story together.

Note: Going on an adventure with Alexa isn't available on the Echo Show 5.

As Alexa narrates, compatible Echo devices with screens display matching images.

For Stories from the Amazon Kids+ Audible catalog, Alexa recommends titles based on the child's interests, creating a personalized listening experience.
