Enable or Disable the Camera on Your Echo Show 8 (2025 release) or Echo Show 11 (2025 release)
Use your device's settings to enable or disable your camera.
Note: The camera on your device is enabled by default. Turning off the camera disables some features.
You can enable/disable your camera through the Microphones & Camera Enable/Disable
button, which turns off both the microphones and camera.
You can also enable/disable just the camera from your device:
- Say, "Go to Settings," or go to the device settings on your Echo Show:
- If you're using Alexa+, select the Menu
icon on your screen, and then select Settings
. - If you're using the original Alexa, swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings
.
- If you're using Alexa+, select the Menu
- Select Privacy & Permissions.
- Select Camera Access.
- Toggle Camera to enable or disable the camera.
A Camera Disabled
appears on the screen when the camera is disabled.
You can also enable/disable the camera from the Alexa app:
- Open the Alexa app
. - Select Devices
. - Select the name of your device.
- Select Settings
. - Select Camera Settings.
- Enable/disable camera.
