Does Amazon Smart Thermostat Work with My System?

The Amazon Smart Thermostat isn't compatible with certain types of heat pumps or HVAC systems.

Check for heat pump compatibility:

The Amazon Smart Thermostat only works with air-to-air and geothermal heat pumps.
The thermostat doesn't work with heat pumps that have a backup gas/oil furnace (commonly referred to as a "dual fuel" system).
The thermostat only works with a C/Common-wire.
- Sometimes, a C-wire saver or adapter will work if a C-wire isn't present. We recommend using the C-Wire Adapter most compatible with the Amazon Smart Thermostat.

Check for HVAC system compatibility using either option:

Refer to the Amazon Smart Thermostat Quick Start Guide's "Most Common HVAC Types" reference.
Go to the Amazon Smart Thermostat product page and search for the "Compatibility information" box. Select "Check compatibility" to go through the compatibility checker.
