What Are Energy Savings Incentives Programs?

Energy savings incentives programs work with your Amazon Smart Thermostat. These programs let you earn rewards, which can offset your energy bill and help your community avoid power disruptions during peak usage.

Besides earning rewards, energy savings incentives programs can help reduce stress on the electric grid during peak demand. Peak usage happens when there's more demand for power than available supply. To meet demand in peak usage, utilities use energy from more expensive and less environmentally friendly sources.

Switching to these sources can be costly and wasteful since peak demand might only happen a few times each year. Instead, some utility companies offer energy savings incentives programs.

If you enroll in one of these programs, utility companies can temporarily adjust your home's temperature when the energy demand is high. These events might happen a few times per year, usually in summer.

Please review your utility company's program details, including the range of possible temperature changes, and other information.

Note: You can only enroll in one energy savings incentives program per household. However, if you have multiple thermostats, you can enroll each thermostat into the same program. To learn more, go to Save with energy rebates.
