Double Tap to Turn Pages or Advance Your Screen on Kindle E-Reader

You can double tap your Kindle's sides or back to turn pages and scroll through Home and Library screens.

Note: Double tap feature is applicable to Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition and Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition released on or after 2024. Visit Identify Your Kindle E-Reader to identify your device.

To turn on the double tap feature:

  1. Go to All Settings.
  2. Select Device Options, then switch the toggle next to Double tap to on.
Note: The double tap feature works with the official Amazon Kindle Colorsoft and Kindle Paperwhite cases, and it may not work with all third-party cases.

Double tap works differently depending on what you're doing:

  • In a book: Advances to the next page.
  • On home screen or library: Advances to the next section.
