Troubleshoot Fire TV Low Power Notification

If you see a notification about insufficient USB power on your Fire TV screen, follow these instructions.



Note: If you see the low power screen before your device turns on, connect the power cable to a power outlet.

When your Fire TV device detects insufficient power from your TV's USB port, it displays an on-screen notification with the following options:

  • Got it - Continue your session.
    • The notification continues to appear each time you turn on your device.
  • Ask me Later – Snooze the notification.

You can acknowledge or snooze the notification to continue using your device, but it will reappear until you resolve the power issue.

To resolve the low power issue, try the following:

  1. Try a different USB port.
    Use a 5W (5V, 1A or equivalent) power adapter and a longer USB power cable.
    Plug the power cable into your TV's USB 3.0 port (if available).
  2. Use a power adapter.
    Connect your Fire TV's power cable to a power adapter and then plug the adapter into a power outlet.
