How to Record Live TV with Fire TV Recast
Use your Fire TV Recast to record Live TV and watch it later.
Note: You can only record over-the-air live TV channels available through the antenna that's connected to your Fire TV Recast.
You can schedule a recording up to 14 days before an episode airs. Fire TV Recast automatically schedules recordings of series episodes as they become available.
To record live TV on your Fire TV device:
- Choose the show that you want to record from the channel guide or from the On Now row on the Home screen.
- Press the Menu button
on your remote. To record in the Fire TV app
, select the three dots next to your chosen program.
Note: The Fire TV app doesn't support scheduling future recordings. - Select Record. You can choose to record either a single episode or the entire series. When recording a single episode, Fire TV Recast starts recording from the point at which you tuned in.

You can manage the default recording options in your Fire TV settings:
- Go to Settings
from the Fire TV menu.
- Go to Live TV
.
- Select Sync Sources, and then select Fire TV Recast.
- Go to Default Recording Options.
