Kentucky Telecommunications and Utility Taxes
Kentucky imposes a telecommunications excise tax and a gross revenues tax on telecommunications, streaming video, direct-to-home satellite, and related services. Certain school districts also impose a Utilities Gross Receipts License Tax (UGRLT) on the same services.
This includes the 6% state tax along with a local 2.4% gross receipts tax.
This means that in addition to streaming video purchases and rentals, Amazon Prime may be subject to these taxes. Because the UGRLT should be collected based on your main service address, please ensure that your primary address is correct in your customer profile. If needed, you can change your address under Your Account > Payment Methods.
