Only handle your Device with clean hands. Clean the device with a soft cloth that is slightly damp with water and a touch of rubbing alcohol; be careful not to wipe it with anything abrasive or to use any harsh chemicals.

Other Safety Considerations

Installation by a qualified professional may be required in your area. Refer to your local laws and building codes before performing electrical work; permits and/or professional installation may be required by law.

Disconnect power to installation area at your circuit breaker or fuse box before beginning installation. Always use caution when handling electrical wiring. Failure to do so can cause electrical shock or equipment damage.

Don't use this product to replace a high voltage system (such as a system with wire nuts or thick unlabeled wires) or any other incompatible system.

Install your device using the provided screws and anchors in a location away from heat sources and direct sunlight to avoid temperature fluctuations, which may affect temperature readings and device performance. Do not install your device near water or in humid conditions.

The openings towards the back of the Amazon Smart Thermostat are used to sense temperature and humidity. If they become blocked, this will impair the devices functionality. If you repaint your home, make sure that your Amazon Smart Thermostat is removed before you paint to avoid paint blocking the holes.

Your Amazon Smart Thermostat will remain cool to the touch during normal operation. If it ever feels hot to the touch, turn off the power to your heating and cooling equipment and contact Amazon technical support.

Many homes built before 1978 contain lead-based paint. Check if your install area contains lead-based paint before beginning installation. Older homes may have wire fuses, rather than the switch ground fault interrupt fuses shown in the app. If you have such a home, and are not comfortable removing the fuse for your heating and cooling equipment, please consult a professional installer.

If this product is replacing a control that contains mercury in a sealed tube, do not place the old control in the trash. Contact your local waste management authority for instructions regarding recycling and proper disposal.

Handle your device and its accessories with care. Your device or its accessories may have pointed edges which can lead to scratches, cuts, or other physical injury.

Small Parts contained in your device and its accessories may present a choking hazard to small children. If the device appears damaged, discontinue use immediately.

If the current wiring appears too short, wires have been lost in the wall, or you are not comfortable working with your wiring, contact a professional to take care of the installation for you. If no C wire is present, you will need to use a C wire power adapter. If you are not comfortable installing this adapter, contact a professional to take care of the installation for you. Amazon Smart Thermostat requires 2.4 GHz wifi to operate. If your home only has 5GHz wifi, it is not compatible with this product.

  • Power adapter designed only for use with your Device.
