Pay with EBT
You can use your Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card as a payment method on eligible items. Amazon.com accepts EBT cards for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF, also known as Cash).
Amazon has partnered with the U.S. government to allow Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards to be used as a payment method on eligible items. To sign up to use your EBT benefits on Amazon and a list of eligible states based on government guidelines, visit www.amazon.com/ebt.
In compliance with U.S. government regulations, you may register on EBT card to your online account at a time.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is the federal organization managing the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is the federal organization managing the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).
Shipping restrictions apply based on state law. For more information about EBT delivery restrictions, go to EBT Frequently Asked Questions.
SNAP EBT
Once a SNAP EBT card is added to your Amazon account, you will receive:
- Access to Amazon Fresh and free delivery on orders of $100 or more
- Free unlimited delivery with Amazon Grocery Subscription on orders over $35 for $4.99/month (vs $9.99/month). Regular delivery orders (without subscription) below $100 include a service fee ranging from $6.95 to $9.95. Pickup in Amazon Fresh stores is free where available.
Item eligibility follows the same guidelines as purchases made with SNAP EBT cards in stores. Items must be sold and shipped by Amazon.com or Amazon Fresh.
SNAP EBT benefits can also be used on Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods on Amazon. For more information on shipping fees and free shipping thresholds, go to About Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market on Amazon.
TANF (or Cash) EBT
Item eligibility depends on government standards and Amazon purchasing requirements. You can use a Cash EBT card to purchase items from most categories on Amazon.com, including items sold by third-party sellers. To find a list of eligible items, go to www.amazon.com/ebt
