Transfer Photos and Videos to Amazon Photos

Transfer photos and videos from another service (iCloud, Google Photos, an external drive, or a folder on your computer) into Amazon Photos.

You can bring photos and videos into Amazon Photos from Apple iCloud, Google Photos, an external drive, or a folder on your computer. Use the method that matches where your files are stored.

iCloud transfer

  • Download Amazon Photos for iOS, sign in, and turn on Auto-Save (check Activate Auto-Save on Amazon Photos iOS App). Photos in your iPhone's Photos library (including those synced from iCloud) will upload automatically.

Google Photos transfer

  1. On google.com/takeout, request a Google Photos export and download the archive to your computer.
  2. Unzip the archive.
  3. Install the Amazon Photos desktop app (Windows or macOS) and sign in.
  4. From the Backup tab, select Add backup folder, then select the unzipped folder.
  5. Confirm to start the upload.

Manual transfer from a computer or external drive

  1. Install the Amazon Photos desktop app on Windows or macOS.
  2. Sign in to your Amazon account.
  3. From the Backup tab, select Add backup folder and choose the folder (or external drive) containing the files.
  4. Set recurrence and file-type preferences, then select Save.
Note: Transfers run in the background and resume after pauses. Make sure your files meet the requirements (check File Requirements for Amazon Photos).
