Accessibility for Amazon Locker

Amazon Lockers offer a variety of accessibility features. These features include talking lockers, larger and high contrast touchscreen text, and a lower locker slot preference.

Lower Locker Preference

If you want your order delivered to an Amazon Locker that is 15-48 inches from the ground, select Use lower lockers when choosing your shipping address.

Once you select this preference, your orders default to deliver to lower lockers. To opt out of this preference, select Change in Checkout beside your lower locker confirmation.

Talking Lockers

Talking lockers provide audio instructions and prompts which guide you to pick up your package. This feature works differently depending on the type of Amazon Locker. To learn more about the types of Amazon Lockers, visit Amazon Locker.

Amazon Locker with Screen

If the Amazon Locker has a physical screen, the screen is located in the middle of the locker bank. Below the screen is an 1/8 audio jack, keyboard, and complete braille instructions. To hear and interact with the screen, insert your personal headphones into the headphone jack. Use the keyboard to interact with the voice prompts.

The keypad is arranged like a telephone with numbers 0-9 and located approximately 4 inches to the right of the audio port. The number 5 is marked with a raised dot. From top to bottom, here are the markings for non-number keys:

  • The Enter key is marked with a raised circle.
  • The Clear key is marked with a raised arrow.
  • The Cancel key is marked with a raised X.
  • The Volume button is marked with a raised speaker symbol. Pressing the volume button adjusts the volume by cycling through 3 different volume levels.

Amazon Locker without a Screen

If you receive an email with a "Start pickup" button, the Locker you're collecting at doesn't have a display screen or headphone jack. Instead, you'll be able to use the screen reader on your smartphone. To receive instructions for picking up your package, select the Start pickupbutton on your smartphone at the Locker via the Amazon shopping app using Bluetooth.

Screen Font and Contrast

Amazon Locker Screens are equipped with large font sizes and high contrast by default. There is no need to select a special text size or color contrast setting at the locker.
