Why Can't I Join an Amazon Family?
There are a few reasons why you might not be able to join an Amazon Family.
Want to manage your Amazon Family? Go to
Amazon Family lets an organizer share select benefits with the people in their household. An Amazon Family can include:
- Up to 2 adults, each with their own Amazon account.
- Up to 4 teens, added as a profile or as a teen account created before April 7, 2025.
- Up to 4 children, added as profiles managed by a parent or guardian.
You might not be able to join an Amazon Family because:
- The Amazon Family has already reached its member limit:
- You have recently left an Amazon Family: A cooldown period of 12 months applies before you can join a new Amazon Family. However, you can rejoin your previous Amazon Family at any time.
- You were invited to join an Amazon Family in another household: Members sharing benefits must live together at the same primary residential address. This is the address you consider to be your home and where you spend the majority of your time.
- Your account is registered on a different Amazon marketplace than the Organizer's account. All Family members must be on the same marketplace.
