Seller debarment
You can block or restrict items offered by third-party sellers who are on the System for Award Management (SAM) or Office of Inspector General (OIG) debarment lists.
When we identify a third-party seller that appears on a debarment list, we can mark their products as either blocked or restricted on product detail pages.
The identification only occurs if your Amazon Business account administrator creates a buying policy.
You can create a policy by going to Business Settings, then selecting Buying policies and approvals. Select Add policy, and then choose the type of policy you would like to create in the Seller policies section.
- Restrict debarred sellers – If enabled, you can still purchase products from those third-party sellers.
- Block debarred sellers – If enabled, you cannot purchase products from those third-party sellers.
This feature currently uses 2 widely used U.S. federal debarment lists – The U.S. General Services Administration's SAM.gov (System for Award Management) and the OIG’s debarment lists. We compare a storefront or business name provided by the third-party seller against the applicable debarment lists. This feature doesn't include information about parties related to third-party sellers, such as owners, employees, affiliates, or subsidiaries.
- The information on these lists typically updates daily.
- We only identify third-party sellers that have sold an item in the last 12 months.
- Amazon requires third-party sellers to identify that they are subject to sanctions, or if they are on any lists of prohibited or restricted parties.
