Mobile phone number accounts are Amazon accounts linked to a mobile phone number instead of an email address.

Create an Amazon account with a phone number
Mobile phone number accounts can only be created through the Amazon Shopping app for iOS and Android smartphones.
To create a mobile phone number account:
- Go to the Amazon shopping app
- Select create an account
- Add your information and verify mobile phone number
You must then use your mobile phone number to sign in on all platform types, like desktop and mobile browser.
Add an email address
To add an email address and get notifications like order updates via email:
- Go to Your Account
- Select Login and Security
- Add your email address
Get notifications
If you don't have an email address linked to your Amazon account, you'll get notifications and emails through the message center.
We also recommend to:
- Download the free Amazon shopping app to get real-time notifications about your order updates and when items go on sale.
- Enable push notifications, on your smartphone and tablet settings.
- Check your notification hub on the Amazon app, under the bell icon in your account. All your push notifications are stored in the Notification Hub.
Check for messages from third-party sellers
Currently, we don't send push notifications for messages sent to you from third-party sellers. You'll still get emails, but you'll need to check for them.
If you're worried about missing an email, add your email address under Login and Security.
Otherwise, you can check for messages from third-party sellers in the message center inbox.
