It is the user's responsibility to make sure that the device is operated within its specifications, intended use, and intended environments. It is the user's responsibility to ensure that bystanders are alerted to the presence of this device and trained in safe behavior around this device so that the operation of this device does not put anyone at risk.

AVOID PROLONGED LISTENING AT HIGH VOLUME.

Prolonged listening of the device at high volume can damage the ear of the user. To prevent possible hearing damage, users should not listen at high volume levels for long periods.

Preparing to Use Your Device

CAUTION: Although the lasers used are Class 1 (eye-safe), it is recommended that you not look into the laser light.

WARNING: Use indoors in dry locations only. To avoid risk of electric shock, use your Amazon Astro ("Device") indoors in dry locations only. Don't allow your device to operate in environments with steam, extreme heat or cold. For example, avoid using your device or its accessories near any heat sources such as space heaters, heater vents, radiators, stoves, or other things that produce heat. Use your device and its accessories in a location where temperatures remain within the device's operating temperature range set forth in this guide. Your device may get warm during normal use. Device is for personal use only and should not be used in commercial settings.

CAUTION: Not suitable for use around children under 3 years of age or small pets. Small parts contained in your device and its accessories may present a choking hazard to small children. Your device is not a toy. Do not sit, stand, or ride on this device. Before using the device in homes with persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, ensure that each person is not at risk during the device's operation.

Ensure use environment is appropriate for Amazon Astro. To avoid risk of injury and property damage, ensure that your use environment is appropriate for the device's use. Do not use in homes with short steps between 3.5-10cm (1.375"-4") tall, or with sunken areas or downward staircases where the edge is curved or has corners. Do not use device on unstable moving surfaces, such as elevators or moving walkways. Operate device in ADA compliant flooring conditions only. Do not operate the device in hazardous environments where there is explosive gas, oil mist or fragile items. Do not use device in environments with flammable dust or particulates.

Do not allow your device to operate in environments with loose items on the floor such as clothing, loose papers, pull cords for blinds or curtains, power cords, or any fragile objects. If your device comes into contact with objects while it is in use, there is a risk that the objects could be knocked over. Take care to ensure that no fragile objects are placed in locations that could be impacted if device's mast is raised. Contact with the mast could cause objects to fall, posing an injury risk.

Do not use device or accessories if damaged. Do not use your device or accessories if they are broken, cracked, or otherwise damaged.

Remove any protective films before Amazon Astro operation. Remove all protective films before use. Failure to do so will cause a reduction in sensor accuracy, which can cause serious injury.

PLACING OBJECTS ON YOUR DEVICE

Do not cover your device or its accessories with blankets or other objects. Doing so may cause risk of overheating.

Objects up to 4.4 pounds may be placed in your cargo bin. Do not place any objects exceeding this weight in your cargo bin. To avoid risk of injury, do not expose your device's cargo bin to liquid and do not place open cups or other open liquid-filled items in the cargo bin. To avoid unwanted impacts or property damage, ensure all items in the cargo bin are appropriately secured. Do not keep objects inside the device's cargo bin that can be easily ejected.

Do not place objects of any weight on other areas of your device. Doing so may cause it to break, posing a safety risk.

Do not block any sensors with stickers, fabric, or any other material. Failure to do so will cause a reduction in sensor accuracy, which can cause serious injury.

AVOID UNEXPECTED CONTACT WITH DEVICE

To avoid risk of entanglement injury, ensure that fingers, body parts, hair, and objects such as string, cables, loose clothing, and jewelry are clear of the device during use and cleaning.

To avoid unexpectedly coming into contact with your device, keep fingers and body clear of the device while it is in motion. Do not lift the device while it is in motion. To lift the device, only use the device's handle. Do not insert fingers or objects into any other holes or gaps on device or its accessories.

CAUTION: Be aware of device motion. Be mindful of the presence of your device in order to avoid tripping or collision. Make sure to warn people to keep their heads and faces outside the reach of the operating device's periscope or any device motion.

WARNING: Do not drop the device, run it off a ledge, or otherwise operate it irresponsibly.

Battery Safety

HANDLE WITH CARE. Your Astro device contains a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Do not disassemble, open, crush, bend, deform, puncture, shred or attempt to access the battery. Do not modify or remanufacture the battery, attempt to insert foreign objects into the battery, or immerse or expose them to water or other liquids, expose to fire, explosion or other hazard. Only use the battery for the system in which it is specified. Use of an unqualified battery or charger may present a risk of fire, explosion, leakage or other hazard. Do not short-circuit the battery or allow metallic conductive objects to come into contact with battery terminals. Avoid dropping the device or battery. Maintaining Your Astro

USING AND MAINTAINING YOUR DEVICE

Do not expose to liquid. Do not expose your device or its accessories to liquids. Do not use your device or accessories near wet locations. Take care not to spill any food or liquid on your device or accessories. Do not put any open object filled with a liquid, such as a vase or open cup, on or near your device or accessories. If your device gets wet, carefully turn it off without getting your hands wet and wait for it to dry completely before using it again. If your accessories get wet, carefully unplug all cables without getting your hands wet and wait for them to dry completely before using them again. Do not attempt to dry your device or accessories with an external heat source, such as a microwave oven or hair dryer.

Keep Device Clean

Only handle your device and accessories with clean hands. Tie back loose hair or clothing before performing device cleaning.

CAUTION: The charging contacts on both the charger and the device can get hot during the operation. The operator must allow for cool down prior to cleaning.

CAUTION: Always turn off the device before cleaning. Failure to do so may result in pinch hazard.

WARNING: To prevent accidental power-on during cleaning, disconnect and remove the power cable.

Use of Accessories

Use only accessories supplied with your device to power the device. Place your charger in a location with adequate space for your device. Place charger at least 3 feet away from a downward staircase. To avoid tripping hazard, ensure that the charger and cable do not protrude into areas where people might unexpectedly come into contact with them. Install your charger into an easily accessible socket-outlet located near the equipment that will be plugged into, or powered by, the charger. Do not force the charger into a power outlet. Do not plug multiple electric devices into the same wall socket. Overloading a socket can cause it to overheat and may result in a fire. Use of third party accessories may impact your device performance. In limited circumstances, use of third party accessories may void your device's limited warranty. Read all safety instructions for any accessories before using with your device.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury or property damage, do not attempt to modify, dismantle, pierce, distort, or repair your device or its accessories.

Other Safety Considerations

  • Do not expose the charger or cable to liquids.
  • If the device, charger or cable appears damaged, discontinue use immediately.

Using Your Device Around Other Electronic Devices

Information Regarding Exposure to Radio Frequency Energy
