Echo Buds Lose Bluetooth Connection

To resolve most issues with Bluetooth connectivity, close the Alexa app and place your buds in the case for 30 seconds.

Tip: For Echo Buds (2021 release, 2nd Generation) and Echo Buds (2023 release), make sure that the device is registered through the Alexa app first.

After you try each troubleshooting step, check to see if your Echo Buds are now connected to your phone.

  • Make sure that your device is charged and your phone's Bluetooth is on.
  • Force close the Alexa app, and then launch it again.
  • Turn on Airplane mode on your phone. Wait 45 seconds, then turn it off.
  • Turn off Bluetooth on your phone. Then turn it on.
  • Restart your smartphone.
  • Factory reset your Echo Buds.

Make sure that your Echo Buds Charging Case is fully charged and your phone's Bluetooth is on. Otherwise, even if your earbuds are charged, they won't connect to your device.

Note: When setting up a replacement pair of Echo Buds (2023 Release), the replacement earbud needs to be set up as a pair and can’t mix with a previous earbud. For more information, refer to your Quick Start Guide that comes with your replacement buds.
