Redeem a Prepaid Kindle Book

When you receive a prepaid Kindle book, you can redeem it immediately and read on your compatible Amazon device or download a Kindle reading app.

Note: If you do not live in the same country as the person who sent you the prepaid Kindle book, the book will not be available to you due to country restrictions. The prepaid Kindle book may also be unavailable if someone else has already used the redemption link or if the person who sent you the book has requested a refund. In these cases, please contact the person who sent you the book to request another copy.
  1. If you received a notification email from the person who purchased the book, select the redemption link in the email. Your browser opens an Amazon page to accept the book. If you received the redemption link printed on a physical piece of paper, input the redemption link into the address bar of your browser.
  2. Sign in using your Amazon account details, then select Accept this eBook.
    Note: If you do not yet have an Amazon account, provide your information to create your Amazon account and click Accept this eBook.
  3. After accepting your book, you can immediately begin reading your book in the Kindle reading app. Your book also appears in the Cloud or Archived Items on any other Kindle devices or Kindle reading apps registered to your account.
