Check your Amazon Tax Exemption Program (ATEP) enrollment status
You can check your Amazon Tax Exemption Program (ATEP) status at any time.
If your exemption is due to expire, we will notify the account administrator 30 days before, then 10 days before, and finally on the day of expiration.
To check your ATEP enrollment status:
- Select Business Settings.
- Scroll down to Tax exemption & licenses and select Tax exemption.
- The Tax exemption page includes:
- Your business account exemptions, listed by jurisdiction. These exemptions apply to all eligible purchases that your organization makes. Administrators can filter the business's tax exemptions by status and jurisdiction.
- Individual exemptions, which apply to individual payment method purchases when there are no organization exemptions.
For each exemption, there is the following information:
- Status: whether your tax exemption is active or expired. If it is expired, refer to Expiration.
- Type: the type of exemption.
- Jurisdiction: the state or jurisdiction where you have registered for ATEP. If you have not registered for ATEP in the state/jurisdiction where your orders ship, you may pay tax on those orders.
- Seller:
- Amazon and its affiliates: your tax exemptions may only apply to purchases on items shipped and sold by Amazon and its affiliates.
- A specific Amazon company (such as Warehouse Deals LLC): your tax exemption may only apply to purchases shipped and sold by that company.
- Effective: date from which your tax exemption is effective.
- Expiration: date on which your tax exemption expires. It will be based on either the date listed on the certificate, or the validity period determined by the state. After it expires, the account administrator must add it again as a new exemption.
- Groups assigned: groups to which the tax exemption applies.
